Lakers vs. Thunder Game 1

Metta World Peace was booed by the OKC crowd in the series opener of the West semis showdown between the Lakers and the Thunder. James Harden, on the other hand, was greeted by applause.

The booing wasn’t just about the home court advantage, for no one gets booed by simply being on the visiting team. World Peace did something to Harden in a regular season game held at the Staples Center. And the incident is still fresh in the memories of the Thunder fans.

This hero vs. villain treatment proved to be a huge psychological factor as the Thunder massacred the Lakers, 119-90 in game 1.

Floyd Mayweather won a unanimous decision against Miguel Cotto. Cotto fought well and landed authoritative punches, even causing blood to drip from Mayweather’s nose. But Mayweather was just quicker and smarter.

Still, Cotto must be commended for making Mayweather earn this win the hard way.

This was a close bout, not in terms of score, but in terms of grit. Cotto ground it out, forcing Mayweather on the ropes several times, giving himself a chance for a knockout. But it was the right decision by the judges—Floyd by four or five rounds.

I’m posting this because some of my Facebook friends were asking me why they can’t seem to get reserved seating for game 7 of the B-MEG-TNT Finals.

My answer is that getting reserved tickets for important games is not humanly possible.

The moment TNT registered their 92-82 Game 6 victory last Friday, the game 7 tickets were already sold out. They’re already bought by the PBA teams. Read More→
