I’m Going Linsane!
By and was posted on Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012 at 6:07 amThe New York Knicks suddenly looks like a decent team – even without their big stars, thanks to the basketball heroics of newborn star, Jeremy Lin.
It’s amazing to see how one guy used to sit at the end of the bench is now vital to the team’s offense – the table has turned, Lin’s time has finally come (His hard work has totally paid off, success is at his fingertips.)
I admit it, I jumped the bandwagon – I was influenced by the “Linsanity.” Normally, I’m one of those loyal fans who stick to their teams no matter what. And since my dear Lakers, well, they’re not really dominating the league right now (I still love ‘em though!), I sort of turn my attention to another direction – and by direction, I mean, Jeremy Lin.
But amidst this phenomenal sensation, Lin stayed humble (He always has.)
Yes, I’m a fan of Lin but that doesn’t make me a fan of the Knicks. Well, let’s just say I’m not really excited about Carmelo Anthony’s existence. (It’s already proven that the Knicks can win games without Melo. So why change that?!)
I’m all for Lin. (Call me a bandwagoner, I don’t care – Lin’s on my list now.) I’m rooting for his success.
When asked about being undrafted in spite of his skills, he said, “I’m not saying Top5 state automatically gets you offers, but I do think (my ethnicity) did affect the way coaches recruited me. I think if I were a different race, I would’ve been treated differently.”
What makes him great? He makes his teammates look good on the court – he dishes out good passes, racking out nice assists every game.
The new legend is born in New York.
He’s undrafted, Harvard graduate who suddenly become a NBA superstar – that’s the reason why I love him. From the ashes, he rise – he’s for real!
He came out of nowhere, now he’s living a dream. Lin’s “Lin-derella” story is truly inspiring.
